A Japanese Garden in Holland

Hey Internet. Now I know what you're thinking- Colleen went to Japan? I thought she was working/broke?? DO NOT BE FOOLED, this garden is in the Hague. I am most definitely still broke. Working....yeah well......hey look at this neat garden!

This particular garden is located in one of the Hague's many parks- Clingendael Park. It was actually created about 100 years ago when the park was still a private estate. The Baroness who built it shipped decor and plants from Japan. I'm pretty sure I would have just shipped a ton of Japanese food from Japan if I was  Baroness with stacks to burn, but then again we all know where my priorities lie...

In order to keep the Japanese Garden (de Japanse tuin in Dutch) looking
beautiful, the city only allows visitors in for a few weeks out of the year. So word to the wise- it gets VERY crowded on weekends when it is open. It might be worth trying to go on a weekday if you want a more tranquil experience. Also if you don't want to have to shoo other tourists out of your tourist photos.....

Tune in for my next post in which I ship in a garden's worth of  Japanese food. Just kidding, I'm still broke.
